Unconventional. Undaunted. Unapologetic.
Valerie joined Radicle Science after stepping away from a successful career in academia, where she spent 20 years teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in quantitative methods and statistics while maintaining several productive lines of research in the biobehavioral sciences.
A scientist at heart, Valerie is also a proud writer and wordsmith, dedicated dog mom, and unwitting military spouse holding on for the most chaotic ride of a lifetime. She is passionate about two things in science: the conviction that — as full-fledged members of the animal kingdom — human cognition and behavior cannot be understood outside the context of basic biology, and the belief that scientists need to be better at communicating complex information to anyone and everyone who could benefit from it.
